Endless Potential 002.
Seeing your ideas through.
Every single day that goes by is another chance to be great. Don’t let fear or your thoughts / overthinking get in the way of your passion. With all of the creatives I speak to daily we all have one thing in common & that’s the power of seeing it through.
You can be going through a rough time in life but that era is forcing you to grow & become better. It will always be something to take away from each chapter in your life.
Realize that each era isn’t there to break you down..it’s shaping you to become the best version of yourself. I wrote my first book in 2022 & right before then I used to think about “What if this doesn’t work?”, “Will people like this?”
“Does it even make sense for a producer to write about all of this??” but then the realization came that I will look back & be proud of this moment & proud of this idea. It changed my life & the way I look at the impact of my art forever. No matter where you are please continue to see your ideas through you never who needs em.
As we get closer to the release of this new book & soundtrack I wanted to speak on a few albums that have changed my life.
In My Mind by Pharrell Williams
One album being In My Mind from Pharrell. I remember the year that album release & how pivotal that album was for me growing up. I was only 11 when it dropped but I remember the whole entire album from front to back. It made me believe even more that I could spark the next generation of ideas one day. In the booklet it stated that “Wealth is of the heart & mind. Not of the pocket” that resonated with me the older I got truly. It spoke to the fact that you aren’t living unless you fully explore your mind & the ideas that come with it. You have to execute em no matter what.
Food & Liquor by Lupe Fiasco
is another major important album that inspired me growing up. It made me appreciate the balance not only in music but the messaging. The fact that someone was from Chicago with a lot of substance & an artist could make us learn something new early on was very inspiring to me. That album dropped the same summer as In My Mind & I needed that balance growing up…especially with what was on the radio at the time & what was being pushed to the masses. Still to this day I appreciate that project more than ever.
Be by Common
Be by Common…timeless album right here. I still remember playing this album with my pops every single day while he would drive around. Kanye & Dilla’s production on here is so timeless. I feel like the messages on here were pure affirmations. On “It’s Your World” you heard the kids speak on who they wanted to be & that was so inspiring because it reminded me no dream is too far. Albums like this taught me early that music is not just entertainment…it’s education, it’s healing, it’s everything. To this day, I still carry those lessons with me in everything I create.
If you are a creative reading this I want you to know that your art is needed. No matter what ur going thru in life make sure you document everything, make sure u dedicate some time to your art, make sure u push thru as much as possible. God will continue to align your path with greatness. One day at a time. You will thank your future self.
